CHILE - San Pedro de Atacama

¡¡Vaya cambio!! ¡¡Ya me esperaba un fuerte contraste al pasar la frontera y llegar a Chile, pero no pensaba que San Pedro de Atacama me fuera a gustar tanto!! Tras los tres días sin ducha - ni electricidad - desde Uyuni, llegar al oasis de Atacama y encontrarse un pueblito lleno de bonitos restaurantes y gente encantadora, es como volver a la civilización tras un largo paréntesis… En Bolivia la gente es amable en general, pero no es lo mismo. Estos chilenos son realmente serviciales, encantadores y educadísimos… Solo llevo dos días en Chile, pero ya estoy enamorado de su gente!!

Llevo una semana durmiendo cada noche en un sitio, así que me he propuesto disfrutar de San Pedro de Atacama al máximo y ya he probado con Kasper y los dos suizos (Priska y Philip) las delicias de cuatro restaurantes distintos, a cual más exquisito. Aquí las cosas cuestan 5 veces más que en Bolivia, pero el placer no tiene precio… ;-))

Ya en el plan cultural, visita al famoso desierto más seco del mundo, con un guía fantástico explicando las formaciones geológicas y los espectaculares paisajes, el Valle de la Muerte y el Valle de la Luna al atardecer… Y esta mañana me ha tocado levantarme a las 4 de la mañana para poder ver en todo su esplendor los geysers del Tatio!!

What a change!! I expected a sharp contrast crossing the border and coming to Chile, but I did not think I would like so much San Pedro de Atacama! After three days without a shower – and no electricity – coming from Uyuni, reaching the oasis of Atacama and finding a town full of nice restaurants and lovely people, is like returning to civilization after a long pause... In Bolivia the people are friendly in general, but it’s not the same. These Chileans are really helpful, charming and extremely polite... I’ve only been two days in Chile, but I'm already in love with these people!

After a week sleeping every night in a different place, I plan to enjoy the most San Pedro de Atacama and I've already tried with Kasper and the two Swiss (Priska and Philip) the delights of four different restaurants, all of them exquisite. Here things cost 5 times more than in Bolivia, but the pleasure is priceless...;-))

Already in the cultural plan, we visited the famous driest desert in the world with a fantastic guide explaining the geological formations and the spectacular landscapes, the Death Valley and the Valley of the Moon at sunset... And this morning I had to get up at 4 in the morning to see in all its glory the Tatio geysers!
