BOLIVIA - Uyuni

Desde que empecé a planear mi viaje, el Salar de Uyuni siempre fue una de las etapas estrella, pero sabía que la experiencia de tres días atravesando los salares y desiertos del sur de Bolivia hasta Chile, era una lotería que dependía mucho del conductor y los demás pasajeros del coche…

Al final, además de Kasper (el holandés con quien llevo viajando desde Sucre) y del conductor Enrique, conseguimos un grupo de lo más divertido, con dos suizos (Priska y Philip), un argentino (Marco) y nuestro super fotógrafo japonés (Ken), que hizo unas fotos geniales con lente ojo de pez!!

Además del famoso paisaje del salar (que sigue siendo impresionante aunque hayas visto mil fotos antes) y de la primera noche en el hotel de sal; los dos dias siguientes han sido igual de increíbles, atravesando desiertos, lagunas enormes de colores preciosos (rojo, verde, blanco…) y llenas de flamencos, islas de cactus, espectaculares montañas y volcanes en activo, formaciones rocosas de formas imposibles, tornados, geysers, piscinas termales y hasta cementerios de trenes antiguos…  así que se superaron incluso mis mejores expectativas!!

Since I started planning my trip, the Salar de Uyuni (Salt flats) was one of the highlights, but I knew that the experience of three days across the salt flats and deserts of southern Bolivia until Chile was a lottery that relied heavily on the driver and the other passengers in the car...

Finally, in addition to Kasper (the Dutch with whom I’m traveling since Sucre) and the driver Enrique, we got a very funny group, with two Swiss (Priska and Philip), an Argentine (Marco) and our super Japanese photographer (Ken ), who made really great photos with his fisheye lens!

Besides the famous landscape of the Salar (which is still impressive even if you've seen a thousand photos before) and the first night in the salt hotel; the next two days have also been just incredible, crossing deserts, huge lagoons of beautiful colors (red, green, white ...) and full of flamingos, islands of cactus, amazing mountains and active volcanoes, rock formations of impossible shapes, tornados, geysers, hot-spring pools and even cemeteries of old trains... so my highest expectations were even exceeded!!
