BOLIVIA - Amazonía - Las Pampas

No conseguí visitar la selva amazónica antes, así que Bolivia era mi última oportunidad y me decidí por una excursión de tres días a la zona de Las Pampas. Para llegar allí he tomado el avión de comercial más pequeño de mi vida: 19 pasajeros, más pequeño que un autobús y moviéndose más que una lavadora… para aterrizar en una pista de tierra que se inunda con la lluvia!! Desde luego, una experiencia no apta para los que sufren de vértigo o en aviones!!

Pese a que el guía no era fantástico, en nuestro pequeño grupo (tres españoles, una francesa, una chilena y un inglés) nos hemos reído mucho. Me ha encantado coincidir con españoles (apenas me he cruzado compatriotas en mi viaje) y las noches jugando a las cartas han sido muy divertidas…

No conseguimos ver las anacondas, pero sí pudimos ver infinidad de cocodrilos, monos, tortugas, pájaros (garzas, tucanes, martines pescadores, aves del paraíso, pico-espátula…), capibaras (roedores enormes!) o delfines rosas. Han sido tres días recorriendo un afluente del amazonas, bajo el calor y la humedad típicos de la jungla, nadando con los delfines rosas e incluso cenando las pirañas y peces-gato que habíamos pescado por la tarde!!

I didn’t manage to visit the Amazon rainforest before so Bolivia was my last chance and I decided to take a three day trip to Las Pampas. But to get there I took the smallest commercial aircraft of my life: 19 passengers, smaller than a bus and moving more than a washing machine... to land on a grass airstrip that gets flooded with the rain! Of course, an experience not suitable for those suffering from vertigo or planes!

Although the guide was not great, in our small group (three Spanish, one French, one Chilean and an English) we laughed a lot. I loved being for once with Spanish (I have come across very few during my trip so far) and the nights playing cards have been very funny...

We did not get to see the anacondas, but we saw plenty of crocodiles, monkeys, turtles, birds (herons, toucans, kingfishers, birds of paradise, peak-spatula...), capybaras (huge rodents!) or pink dolphins. It has been three days along a tributary river of the Amazon, in the heat and humidity typical of the jungle, swimming with pink dolphins and even eating for dinner the piranhas and cat-fish we had fish in the afternoon!
