PERÚ - Huaraz - Trek Santa Cruz

Ya de vuelta de los cuatro días de excursión en la Cordillera Blanca, estaba muy motivado para subir a alguna de las lagunas o visitar las ruinas de Chavin, pero al final me he quedado a descansar en Huaraz y esta noche viajo hacia Lima.

Estoy muy contento porque no sabía cómo iba a reaccionar mi cuerpo a la altura y el ritmo del trekking de Santa Cruz y al final… ¡Estoy en mejor forma de lo que creía!! Gracias a mi padre, estoy acostumbrado a la montaña desde pequeño, pero nunca había dormido en camping a esa altura (entre 3.500 y 4.200m), ni tantos días seguidos!

Han sido unos días de paisajes de montaña increíbles en el Parque Nacional de Huascarán, entre glaciares, lagos azules, valles impresionantes y las mayores cumbres de Perú (Huascarán – 6.768m). En total, 64 Kms. de marcha recorriendo dos valles separados por un paso a 4.700m de altura y admirando las preciosas montañas Alpamayo, Taulliraju o Artesonraju (logo de Paramount Pictures!).

Lo mejor ha sido lo que nos hemos reído en nuestro pequeño grupo. Además del guía y el arriero de los burros (que llevaban las tiendas de campaña y provisiones para 4 días), junto a mis nuevos amigos Charlotte (Alemania) y Steven (el fotografo francés que merece un capitulo aparte!), había dos parejas de israelíes con las que enseguida congeniamos y contribuyeron a un ambiente general de risas constantes!

Once back of the four-day trek in the Cordillera Blanca, I was highly motivated to go to any of the lakes or visit the ruins of Chavin today, but in the end I remained resting in Huaraz and tonight I travel to Lima.

I am very happy because I did not know how my body would react to the altitude and rhythm of the Santa Cruz trek and in the end... I'm in better shape than I thought! Thanks to my father, I'm used to the mountains since I was a child, but I had never slept on a camping at that altitude (3.500 to 4.200m), nor so many days in a row!

They have been days of incredible mountain landscapes in the Huascaran National Park, between glaciers, blue lakes, breathtaking valleys and the highest peaks of Peru (Huascaran - 6.768m). In total, 64 km of hiking two valleys separated by a pass at 4.700m height and admiring the beautiful mountains  Alpamayo, Taulliraju or Artesonraju (the Paramount Pictures logo!).

The best thing was how much we laughed in our little group. In addition to the guide and the donkeys keeper (carrying tents and provisions for four days), and together with my new friends Charlotte (Germany) and Steven (the French photographer that deserves a separate chapter!), there were two couples of Israelis who got along well immediately and contributed to a general climate of constant laughter!
